MITA delivers specialist High Voltage Switching training for electricity supply organisations and large industrial businesses that operate and maintain their own high-voltage networks. Our training develops the practical knowledge, judgement and technical capability required to plan and carry out HV switching safely, including isolation, access, permit procedures and the restoration of supply.
We provide tailored HV switching training and assessment for organisations including Fonterra, Pan Pac, New Zealand Steel and data centre operators, adapting delivery to suit their equipment, network configuration and site-specific operating procedures. Training can be delivered using MITA’s purpose-built switching equipment or, where appropriate, at the customer’s site to create a practical and relevant learning experience.
Our standard HV Switching course is 2 days and includes Unit Standards 12387 and 20091. We also offer 1-day renewal courses if your staff hold these unit standards and suggest that HV Switching standard is renewed at leats every 2 years in line with industry best practice.
