Qualifications available
- New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Introductory) (Level 2)
Provides the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to begin working safely in the electricity supply industry. - New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) (Level 4)
Develops the skills required to construct, maintain and repair overhead electricity distribution networks. - Live Low Voltage Lines Optional Strand
Extends the capability of qualified line mechanics to undertake approved work on live low-voltage distribution assets. - New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Cable Jointing High Voltage) (Level 4)
Develops the technical knowledge and practical skills required to install, joint, terminate, maintain and repair low- and high-voltage electricity supply cables. - 33kV Optional Strand
Provides qualified cable jointers with the specialist skills required to work on cable systems operating above 11kV and up to 33kV. - New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Fault Response and Switching) (Level 4)
Builds advanced capability in diagnosing network faults, restoring supply and safely operating electricity distribution networks. - Distribution Fault Response Strand
Focuses on fault identification, diagnosis, emergency response and the safe restoration of electricity supply. - Distribution Network Switching Strand
Focuses on planning, coordinating and carrying out complex switching operations across electricity distribution networks. - New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Live Line Glove and Barrier) (Level 5)
Develops the advanced skills required to undertake live-line work using approved glove-and-barrier methods, procedures and equipment. - New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Live Line Stick) (Level 4)
Develops specialist capability to undertake live-line work using approved insulating-stick techniques.
