What is a Micro-credential?

Micro-credentials are compact, independent certification with set learning outcomes. They recognise a learners’ skills, expertise and knowledge while simultaneously aligning with the needs of employers and industry.

MITA Consulting has been approved by NZQA to offer the following micro-credentials to learners throughout Aotearoa.

 

Working at Heights in an Electrical Environment (Level 3) (27 credits) (Micro-credential)

This programme is to provide the electricity supply industry with people who have sufficient knowledge, practical skills, and experience to work at height and follow safe practices.

Ākonga will be able to work safely to electricity supply industry standards, taking responsibility for their work and that of others, and be capable of working independently whilst ensuring public safety. 

HV Switching (Level 4) (23 credits) (Micro-credential)

This programme is to provide the electricity supply industry with people who have sufficient knowledge, practical skills, and experience carry out High Voltage Switching.

The High Voltage Switching (L4) (Micro-credential) offers comprehensive training encompassing both theoretical and practical knowledge essential for high voltage switching. Participants gain an understanding of hazards, including correct PPE, safe practices, and are able to carry out switching operations. The course covers all the outcomes in the specified unit standards to the ensure a comprehensive industry-aligned course.

This micro-credential will recognise kaimahi as a competent operator with skills and experience to operate high voltage equipment.
